My Arrival

Hello from Thoiry, France! I know I should've started this blog sooner, but I will try and catch you up!
23 September:
My parents and I drove down to the Chicago airport, and I caught my plane to London. The flight was awesome, AND I had a window seat :) The plane was so nice. Everyone had their own tv screen in front of them with their own headphones of course. There were about 100 movies, and 100 cds to choose from, but I mostly looked at the digital map (it shows you the exact route you're taking, what you're flying over, stats, etc). I watched the USA disappear, saw ocean, ocean, and more ocean. Then, I slept a little bit, woke up to more ocean, then saw Ireland, and finally landed in the UK.
Oh, and the food was good too... it's not true what everyone says about airplane food being bad. I actually liked it! For dinner, I ate the chicken with gravy, potatoes, stuffing, peas and carrots. We also got a salad, bread, a little bottle of wine, a little candybar, and cheesecake. I think they fed us a total of 4 different times (2 meals and 2 snacks) from Chicago to London! I wasn't expecting them to feed us so much... it only took 8 hours (and it was overnight)!
24 September:
I arrived in London hoping to get out and see something (anything really), but unfortuneately there's not much to see around the Heathrow airport. Even though they consider it a London airport, it's really much further outside the city. Saying it's on the outskirts is even pushing it. Everyone told me Terminal 5 was the most exciting thing around. (It's a new airport and that's the new wing they built onto it, actually the one in which my plane landed, haha.) This was probably a good thing though because I got some sleep in the airport (I only slept about 2 hours total on the plane).
The plane ride from London to Geneva was not as exciting food/entertainment wise, but I did have a window seat again, so that was good. There was so much more to see!
That night, Emmanuel (the father) came with the two boys Jean Baptiste who is 11, and Cyril who is 9 to pick me up. Even though the airport is in Switzerland, we only live about 15 mins away from it.
25 September - Now:
Haha, I'm taking a short cut. I can't write every single day out like that... I've been here almost 2 weeks! I'll just put in the highlights, and from now on I will try and update more often.

***Fete de Thoiry - This was basically one big festival/carnival/dance/concert type thing. It was so much fun! On the first night, there was a huge band that led us through the town and we got to walk with torches! Actual torches (not just candles!) I thought that was pretty sweet...
After the march, we went on the rides!

Okay, that's plenty for tonight! I will fill you in on more later!
